As the Associate Director of Professional Learning and Partnerships, Kara works to implement continuous quality improvement and professional learning through TPS out-of-school time programming. Through coaching, training, and conducting program assessments, her team enhances the extended learning experience at all levels.

Kara previously served in multiple roles at the YMCA, focusing her efforts on out-of-school time programming. Her roles ranged from School Site Director, Camp Director, Summer Program Director, and Associate Executive Director for Community Outreach. While working at the YMCA, Kara discovered a love of connecting and working with community partners. This love continues to fuel her work at The Opportunity Project.

Kara received her bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies with an emphasis in Human Development and Leadership from the University of Missouri where she played on the MU Rugby team. 

Kara volunteers throughout the Tulsa Community. Her recent volunteer adventures have been with Tulsa’s MayFest and Turkey Mountain Campout!  During her spare time Kara loves being around her family, pets, and books.
