Programming Ideas and Opportunities

If you’d like to host an Out-Of-School Time experience for the youth in your community, but don’t know where to start, here are some ideas!

ESSER funds are ending. Now what?

The Opp’s Expanded Learning Initiative (ELI) has been presented in partnership with Tulsa Public Schools. Funding for ELI came from Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds that were designated for COVID relief and granted to Tulsa Public Schools. ESSER funds will end in October 2024 and The Opportunity Project will no longer provide ELI Grants to local partners after Summer 2024.

We know many partners in our community relied on ELI Grants to provide programming for Tulsa youth. We have put together the following information to assist our partners as we navigate this change together.

Other Options for Funding Your Out-of-School Time Programs:

  • Explore opportunities for program collaboration or consolidation with other organizations to share resources and reduce costs.

  • Collaborate with local Tulsa businesses and corporations through sponsorship or donation programs to fund your out-of-school time programs.

  • Advocate for continued public funding or support for out-of-school time programs at the local, state, or federal level.

  • Engage in fundraising activities such as crowdfunding campaigns, charity events, or appeals to individual donors and community stakeholders.

  • Pursue grant opportunities from state or federal government agencies dedicated to education, youth services, or community development.
